Determining Required Piston Dome Volume

This formula will give you the dome volume, in CCs, needed to reach your target compression ratio.

  1. a = Head Chamber Volume (cc)
  2. b = Gasket Volume (cc)
  3. c = Deck to Piston Volume (cc)
  4. d = Cylinder Displacement
  5. e = Target Compression Ratio

Formula: (a + b + c - (d / (e - 1.00))) x -1

Example: (60 + 10 + 10 - (823.7 / (9.237 - 1.00))) x -1 = 20cc
